LOCAL DETAIL

What the houses here need.

Dresher started as a mill village. John Kirk built a sawmill and gristmill here before 1750, George Dresher bought it around 1780, and the crossroads of Limekiln Pike and Susquehanna Road got its own railroad station in 1888. Upper Dublin stayed mostly farmland until the 1950s, then filled fast: the township grew from about 6,600 people in 1950 to nearly 20,000 by 1970. That is why so much of Dresher is split-levels, ranches and two-story colonials from the '50s, '60s and '70s, with neighborhoods like Dublin Hunt and townhome communities like Woodside Village in between. It is also where we're based.

A split-level stacks its rooms on three or four levels joined by short flights of stairs, so a new floor is never one continuous run. Every half-flight needs its own nosing and transition, and we plan them so the levels read as one floor. The lowest level usually sits at or partly below grade, and that is where we take a moisture reading before recommending LVP or a glued-down engineered floor instead of solid hardwood. Rooms from this era tend to have eight-foot ceilings and plain original casing, so the trim is often the single biggest change: a taller baseboard and properly scaled crown make a 1960s living room look finished on purpose. Most houses here were built before 1978, so we confirm the year before any painted trim or wall is disturbed.

FROM THIS AREA

...That's when I found David online. He came out quickly, gave us a great price and then provided even better work. His guys were super respectful of our home and I felt so at ease knowing we hired the guy who we trusted the most since it was a one week job. The finished product is a kitchen that feels so much bigger and more open and a blank slate that we get to do what we want with while maintaining the historic charm of the home. We truly are so glad and thankful. We recommend him 1000%.
