TRIM
Wainscoting, picture frame molding, chair rail, crown, coffered ceilings and built-ins. Designed to your room rather than cut to a stock profile.

WHAT'S INCLUDED
Everything in one quote, with options to choose from.
Profiles and heights designed against your ceiling height, window sills and door casings
Set out on the wall and walked with you before material is cut
Material chosen per room, with no MDF in bathrooms or damp below-grade spaces
Inside corners coped, outside miters closed tight with no visible line
Returns finished on every exposed end, never left open-grain
Joints in long runs placed where they are least visible
Nail holes filled and sanded flush, caulk struck clean, primed and finished in two coats
HOW WE FINISH IT
Builder trim is sized for the builder, not the room.
Almost every house in this area went up with the same three-inch baseboard and the same two-inch casing, whether the ceiling is eight feet or eleven. In a tall room that trim looks apologetic.
Trim is proportion. Baseboard height relates to ceiling height, casing width relates to the door, and crown scale relates to the volume of the room. Get those right and a room feels resolved before you have chosen a single color.
We cope inside corners rather than mitering them. A mitered inside corner opens as the house moves through the seasons; a coped one does not. Every nail hole is filled and sanded until it disappears under the topcoat. You will not see the difference on day one, and you will see it clearly in year three.

WHAT IT COSTS
Picture frame molding sits in Refresh.
Wainscoting, coffered ceilings and built-ins sit in Transform or Elevated.
Linear footage, profile complexity and ceiling height are what move it.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Before you call.
Usually. Common profiles we can source, and many older ones can be built up from stock pieces. Send us a photo of a cut end and we will tell you before the consultation.
It depends on your ceiling and your window sills. The common one-third rule often looks wrong in an eight-foot room. We set it out full size and walk it with you before we build.
MDF is more stable, takes paint beautifully and costs less, which makes it excellent for painted trim in a dry room. Real wood is required for stained finishes and damp areas. We recommend per room.
Yes, and we would rather. Trim installed by one crew and painted by another is where the caulk lines and filled nail holes tend to show.
Every job is run by one project manager, installed by one crew, so no down time between trades, no surprise change orders without notice, no cleanup left for you.
